Find the nest above the gate
During Search the island for the missing lever and repair the highway gate, look above the gate for a large nest. From ground level near the gate, climb the rock slope past the broad blue leaves and yellow barrels. Continue uphill to the nest overlooking the circular gate.
Pry loose, then pick up
- Aim at the yellow lever inside the nest.
- Hold F at PRY LOOSE PACE LEVER.
- After loosening it, press F at PICK UP PACE LEVER.
- Look for PACE Lever / Item discovered and 1 PACE Lever to confirm collection.
Loosening the lever is not the same as collecting it. If it is still missing from your inventory, look for the separate pickup prompt. Mawk eggs and a Circuit board are different items.
Repair the highway gate console

Return to the console with the items above. Equip the Welder and use the displayed START REPAIR action. Continue until the console reaches 100 / 100 HP and the lever is installed.
Activate the gate
At F TOGGLE HIGHWAY GATE, press F. The circular gate lights up blue and the objective changes toward travelling to Rover’s Hollow through the highway gates.
The nearby barrel’s REQUIRES EXTRACTOR TOOL prompt belongs to the barrel, not to collecting the PACE Lever.
